I have the best luck north of the restaurant, down the hill.
Yes I would like to know if there's a person also what is the purchase price
Great service, very friendly. Most all the food is absolutely delicious!
The food is fine. The atmosphere is cute and unique. I just can not warrant the price of the food. I have no issue with an expensive meal, however, I do not feel like the cost is worth the meal. When we left we did say that the meal was good, but do not have any interest in going back
We participated in the wine and cheese tasting class. What a delightful smorgasbord of tastes and smells! Lots of information and years of knowledge readily shared to aid in duplicating what your tastebuds loved most! Bravo!!
Year after year we come for our Christmas party and we always love it!
Fun and historic atmosphere. Best homemade ceasar salad. Love to go for special occasions.
This is a true old school Alaskan restaurant--they care about quality food but not in a fussy way. Every time I've eaten here, I've had an amazing experience--great food and great service. I've also done their Caesar salad making course and had a great time. This is what local business is about in Alaska--support our homegrown places and eat here.
This place is incredible, the owner greeted us, the building is small and quaint. You have to try the halibut cheeks and caesar salad (the salad is prepared tableside with fresh ingredients!) Every dish has unique, perfectly matched flavors. I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could!
Food was good, as expected, service was lousy. The servers need to get over them selves and get down to work. I've dined there several times a year since the 1980s but last night was a new low-the worst neglect from a server I can recall in this country. Also, they are not discrete, serving from the sidelines as they should, but love to be the center of attention. Forget this. I'll give it another year before returning.
The food was great! Did not care for the crab cakes but the salad and veal tenderloins were outstanding! BUT the service was terrible! We were on a double date and asked for her to split the bill and she got snotty with us When we asked for help she yelled out loud what we owed. My husband asked her to keep her voice down. It was very embarrassing! She figured out Bill wrong three times. When we told her she was unprofessional she never once apologized. We will not be back. Too bad because we loved the food. The owners need to rethink their servers.
Spectacular take out! Van’s Caesar salad, fresh Copper River King salmon with tabbouleh. Outstanding, thank you!
We absolutely LOVE this place! The food is delicious and they have an excellent choices of wines to match!
This is what living is all about. Never have I been to a restaurant that had it all, from great food, a perfect selection of employees, atmosphere, and a killer selection of wines. My date and I were blown away by it all. Cooks picking fresh vegetables from the garden in the back, waiters treating us with respect even with our copious amounts of tattoos, and the perfectly seasoned food made this place our new favorite. We can not wait to come back.
My inlaws were ecstatic with this meal. For four people, we shared 6 appetizers, 1 salad, 1 entree, and 2 desserts. It was a lot, but very satisfying. The consensus favorites were halibut cheeks and gnocchi. I also loved the lobster/halibut/salmon spread, and oysters. The only appetizer I would recommend skipping is the eggplant spread. The mango and raspberry sorbets brought about groans of pleasure. Service was very good.
I had a wonderful time here. The menu was very original for Alaska
Great, intimate restaurant with an amazing wine list
Never one to disappoint, Marx bros knocked it out again. Staff was great, attentive and helpful. Atmosphere varied by patrons from a little loud to quiet and intimate. Food was fantastic. Salads were prepaired well, greens were fresh and crisp. Main dishes were amazing. Flavorful and prepared perfectly. Always worth a little extra to come here. From the coat service to the staff and food, every detail is taken into consideration.
Always a great experience, fantastic atmosphere, and fine dining! Service was outstanding!
Amazing salad, made with perfection, is a must try!
This place is Awesome. The Caesar Salad....scrumptious, the best I've had. Also, just loved their Duck Breast. Simply Delicious. Give it 4 stars!
Jack can do no wrong with Marx brothers. Far and away the best resteraunt in Alaska.... Muse in the Anchorage Museum run by jack is well worth it too for a cheaper less formal lunch option.
Fantastic food, Fantastic people
This restaurant is one of the best in Alaska. We went there for our anniversary last year and the food and service was phenomenal! We just made reservations to come back in a few weeks for our anniversary this year. Must get the caesar salad that the owner makes fresh. It’s amazing!!!!
The best ceaser salad I ever ate. The steak was like cutting into butter. My snapper was deliciously delightful.Music was pleasing to my soul.Ambiance lovely. The staff very pleasant and inviting.
This is OUR place for special occasions. If not a special occasion, we ivent one. Their food is bar none. Same with service. Always a real treat. We have been going since the earlt 1990s.
Fantastic food, personal service, and quiet and quaint setting.
Marx Bros. Cafe's response to the current Take-Out only situation is fantastic! Amazing food with easy to follow instructions for serving, what a Treat! Thank you!
Best Filet to date!
Loved it!
Phenomenal service, the very best food exquisitely prepared. We will be back again and again.
Relaxing dinner, good food and service
If you have a chance to go here, you have to try the eggs benedicts...They have many different kinds and they all were great. The espresso bar has a to go option and its very reasonable and good. The place is small so plan on a wait when you get there, but its totally worth it
Believe the reviews from AAA. This restaurant has the best service and food. Make sure you get the salad, and you'll get to meet the owner. He brings a cart to your table and makes the salad, while he chats with you.
Food is incredible! It is a very small space.
Beautiful food and atmosphere. We are looking forward to going back next time we are in Anchorage. By far my favorite meal on our Alaska vacation.
To keep it short and simple: this restaurant is top-notch! The best wine selection and food in Alaska. This is the fanciest restaurant in Anchorage and is a must-go for special occasions.
OMG, excellent dinner and service. Was greeted/seated by a very pleasant young lady and Mr. Van, himself! The appetizer of foie gras is literally 'melt in your mouth' buttery smooth, amazing. We enjoyed fresh baked bread with olive oil, entree of Salmon with an increditable red pepper sauce, entree of scallops, shrimp, housemade spinach noodles with roasted broccoli. All was prepared with perfection.
Food was so delish I forgot to take pics. Simple menu with creative, local faves. Salmon, scallops halibut and filet were staples. Extensive wine list. Huge dessert menu with dessert wines. Good date place.
Fine dining, wonderful atmosphere, highly recommend
Excellent menu. I love their Cesar salads
Amazing food. Incredible service. Need I say more? - I highly recommend the crab-cakes; possibly the best thing I've ever eaten.
Out of all the years we've come, we have always had a spectacular time. The food is always top notch, and the service is always genuine.
Great atmosphere, although it is quite small. Phenomenal food.
Very expensive, but beautiful location. Ordered their Caesar salad which they were known for and could taste garlic for weeks. Otherwise good food
Great food and great service. Scallops were fresh and sweet...highly recommended.
While the Marx Bros is admittedly very expensive, it is always worth it. The food is reliably outstanding, presentation is beautiful, and the wine list is ample. Go at sunset for an amazing view to go with the meal. It's a splurge, but I never regret it. We go for our anniversary every year, stuff ourselves with the best food we will ever eat paired with a bottle of wine, and then take a cab home.
I throw rocks at the restaurants in California now. Marx Brothers has spoiled me. You just cannot get the quality of steak or seafood in Any restaurant where I live. So an annual visit to Marx is required.
Legit 5 stars. The benchmark of fine dining in Anchorage.
I use to work here back in the 90's and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. working was a learning experience and the food was a BONUS and benefit of working at such a great place.
By far the best dinner in Anchorage!
Small portions, large prices.
